Let's celebrate International Women's Day TOGETHER

Let's celebrate International Women's Day TOGETHER

Line

Line Ellegiers

What part of your body do you feel grateful for no matter what size and shape it is right now?

What body part did you used to be insecure about but have learned to appreciate?

Ik heb me altijd ontzettend onzeker gevoeld over mijn “kleinere” borsten.

When you look in the mirror, what’s the first thought you have?

What part of your body do you feel grateful for no matter what size and shape it is right now?

Mijn benen!

What body part did you used to be insecure about but have learned to appreciate?

Mijn schouders.

When you look in the mirror, what’s the first thought you have?

“LET’S SMASH THIS DAY!!”
Niemand is zelfzeker 24/7.

What part of your body do you feel grateful for no matter what size and shape it is right now?

Grateful for: my overall health. It's hard for me to be grateful for one specific body part, as all of them have given me the ability to have an amazing life and give birth to two tiny humans.

What body part did you used to be insecure about but have learned to appreciate?

Insecure about, yet accepted: the boobies. Before kids I had amazing boobs. After nurturing 2 humans they got a little "deflated", which I was insecure about for a while. I have not only learned to accept it but I'm proud and confident about my boobs, as of my entire body. I'm saddened by the fact that I was ever insecure about them, as this insecurity is mostly (if not entirely) a product of male gaze. Acknowledging my bodily insecurities is the equivalent of accepting male gaze, which I'm working so hard to overthrow.

When you look in the mirror, what’s the first thought you have?

Mirror thoughts: hi there 😘

What part of your body do you feel grateful for no matter what size and shape it is right now?

If it can be internal - my heart. For being overly sensitive, but oh so empathic. For falling in love with everyone and everything so easily. For jumping with every sign of beauty, of softness, of warmth. My big, small, tender loving heart is who I am.

What body part did you used to be insecure about but have learned to appreciate?

My legs. I have a petite upper body but a feminine lower body, making me an “awkward” pear shape. I hated this when I was younger, but I’ve learned to embrace how feminine it makes me instead of wanting slimmer legs.

When you look in the mirror, what’s the first thought you have?

I can’t wait to see how this face and this body grows and ages over time. 💗

Jitske

What part of your body do you feel grateful for no matter what size and shape it is right now?

What body part did you used to be insecure about but have learned to appreciate?

When you look in the mirror, what’s the first thought you have?

What part of your body do you feel grateful for no matter what size and shape it is right now?

All parts! Happy for my legs to walk me through life, happy for my heart beating, happy for my lungs pumping air to my brain.

Just celebrating my body and what it is capable of doing every single day.

What body part did you used to be insecure about but have learned to appreciate?

My somewhat short legs, but Learned that working out helps my for my mindset and also does wonders to make me feel happy about them and their shape.

When you look in the mirror, what’s the first thought you have?

I do feel insecure, but I’m telling myself every morning in the mirror. You and your body are wonderful to feel good about me and it also helps me to keep improving and take action to give my body what it needs.

What part of your body do you feel grateful for no matter what size and shape it is right now?

What body part did you used to be insecure about but have learned to appreciate?

When you look in the mirror, what’s the first thought you have?

Morgane

What part of your body do you feel grateful for no matter what size and shape it is right now?

I always feel grateful for my belly. It may not be as flat as it once was, but it has healed my body over the last few years, and it makes me grateful for my health every day.

What body part did you used to be insecure about but have learned to appreciate?

I used to be insecure about my thighs, but I now appreciate that they have grown and made me stronger than I have ever been.

When you look in the mirror, what’s the first thought you have?

When I look in the mirror, I try to look at myself and train myself to love the parts I used to hate. I find this ritual very empowering, and it builds confidence by appreciating and loving every part of your body one day at a time.

 Camille

Camille Ringoir

What part of your body do you feel grateful for no matter what size and shape it is right now?

My heart, the center of my being. The size of my body is irrelevant to who I truly am.

What body part did you used to be insecure about but have learned to appreciate?

My skin. In my early 20’s I developed an autoimmune condition named vitiligo. It is characterized by depigmentation of the skin. It’s been a rollercoaster journey, but I accepted the white dots (my beauty spots) on my skin. I changed my perspective and realized that it’s the same skin that protects me and enables me to feel the warmth of sunshine, the hugs from loved ones and the kisses I get from my dog Charlie.

When you look in the mirror, what’s the first thought you have?

“You’ve never looked more beautiful.” Not my actual first thought but the first thing that catches my eye before looking in the mirror as I have a little card on my beauty counter saying this. Subconsciously it makes me feel good about myself. Beauty is a state of mind, not a state of the body.

What part of your body do you feel grateful for no matter what size and shape it is right now?

I feel grateful for my whole body since it has given me my daughter after putting it through intense hormone treatments.

What body part did you used to be insecure about but have learned to appreciate?

I always felt insecure about my butt since I have quite some cellulite but I have noticed that almost all women - thin or not - suffer from it.

When you look in the mirror, what’s the first thought you have?

Wow, you're a mom now! And it was my body that was capable to grow that miracle.

What part of your body do you feel grateful for no matter what size and shape it is right now?

What body part did you used to be insecure about but have learned to appreciate?

When you look in the mirror, what’s the first thought you have?

Dat’k me nu eigenlijk beter in mijn vel voel dan toen ik 20 was... ook al zijn sommige zaken mss wat minder strak... it’s The inside that counts 🙌🏻  💯

What part of your body do you feel grateful for no matter what size and shape it is right now?

My feet. They take me everywhere & that’s something quite special. We need to love and appreciate our feet way more!

What body part did you used to be insecure about but have learned to appreciate?

My booty 🍑  I have good and bad days. But in the end, I’m grateful to have it & get to shake it 💃🏻

When you look in the mirror, what’s the first thought you have?

“Why so serious”? It’s the first thought of pretty much every girl who has a resting b*tch face 😅

And then I smile 😊

What part of your body do you feel grateful for no matter what size and shape it is right now?

My whole body. I used to be soooo insecure about every part of my body. I learned to accept who I am by understanding why I don’t like something about myself so you can learn to accept who you are. It’s important to listen to your body, ask yourself the right questions to move forward and don’t look back. I became stronger & more confident through this process of learning.

A little tip: I always try to turn everything on the positive side. It helps to relate bad things & to stand positive in life!

What body part did you used to be insecure about but have learned to appreciate?

There was a moment in life where I was low in energy & lack of confidence that I went to see someone. This helped me so much to understand why we have to be happy & grateful for everything we have. We live in a community where seeing someone is still taboo. But know that it’s OK to get help, nobody is perfect & nobody can handle the world on it’s own.

When you look in the mirror, what’s the first thought you have?

I'm grateful with what I've accomplished with my ups & downs. Happy with or without cellulitis or extra chin. My goal is to make myself & the world happy.

What part of your body do you feel grateful for no matter what size and shape it is right now?

What body part did you used to be insecure about but have learned to appreciate?

Zotjes 😆

When you look in the mirror, what’s the first thought you have?

Lief zijn (voor mijzelf dan) vooral nu...

Anna

What part of your body do you feel grateful for no matter what size and shape it is right now?

My legs and feet because they take me everywhere! After all, they are the foundation of your body, which means keeping your feet healthy can help keep you healthy. I also like sports. Running, swimming and yoga are my favorites, won’t be possible without strong legs ;-)

What body part did you used to be insecure about but have learned to appreciate?

My belly, I often suffer from a bloated belly, during my periods, but also after eating and when I’m stressed out. I have learned to accept it and instead of really not wanting to accept it. It is also just the way I am built and it helps me by being gentle with myself instead of rejecting that part of my body and stressing over it.

When you look in the mirror, what’s the first thought you have?

Hello sweet soul, be gentle, be soft, stay grounded and enjoy!

What part of your body do you feel grateful for no matter what size and shape it is right now?

I’m very grateful for my juicy booty. No matter what happens with my body. It’s always there and although I used to hate it as a teenager, I thank my mother every day for her genes 😅

What body part did you used to be insecure about but have learned to appreciate?

I’ve learned to appreciate the healing capacity of my body and accept that my body is always on my side. I used to see it as an enemy but I’m learning every day that we are on the same team.

When you look in the mirror, what’s the first thought you have?

I’m still very hard on myself but I’ve written on my mirror that today is the only day that matters. I try to start my day with a compliment to myself but I tend to forget that 😅

What part of your body do you feel grateful for no matter what size and shape it is right now?

My legs. They take me to the prettiest places on earth.

What body part did you used to be insecure about but have learned to appreciate?

My arms and knees. I used to think my arms looked fat and my knees have little scars. Thanks to yoga I learned to appreciate my body much more. My body gives me all the strength to accomplish exercises. Step by step, these insecurities disappeared.

When you look in the mirror, what’s the first thought you have?

I am thankful for rediscovering myself.

What part of your body do you feel grateful for no matter what size and shape it is right now?

What body part did you used to be insecure about but have learned to appreciate?

When you look in the mirror, what’s the first thought you have?
