Shakshuka is rich in protein, iron, zinc and magnesium. In fact, this recipe contains chickpeas, which offer a number of benefits. They aid digestion while preventing the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Cumin seeds, for their part, are your best friend against bloating and its inconveniences. Not to mention the benefits for the immune system.
Ingredients :
- 3 to 4 eggs
- 1 can chickpeas (optional)
- 1 red bell pepper
- ½ block of feta
- flat leaf parsley
- Cumin for extra flavor
- 1 jar Think Tomato (or more, if you want more sauce)
- 1/2 red onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
Instructions :
- Finely chop the onion. Press the garlic and chop the chili pepper. Remove the seeds from the peppers and cut into cubes. Fry the onion with the garlic, bell pepper and chili pepper in olive oil until translucent.
- Add the Think Tomato tomato sauce to the pan and season with salt, pepper and cumin. Put the lid on the pan and let it simmer for 15 minutes on a low heat
- Make some wells in the sauce and add the eggs.
- Wait until the egg whites are cooked and then remove the pan from the heat.
- Finish the dish with the feta and/or parsley for extra flavour. Serve the shakshuka with some bread for the ideal combination.
Tip :
Cumin seeds are naturally rich in iron, magnesium and zinc.
Add chickpeas for extra protein, so you feel satisfied.
